• How did you meet? Bumble!
• Tell me a little about the proposal – It was a beautiful Autumn day at Oxford Botanic Gardens in front of Lyra and Will’s bench (from His Dark Materials). Kate had no idea (although looking back there were a good few clues), and luckily Matt had the forethought to arrange for a photographer to capture the exact moment of shock. We celebrated at the Fat Duck and Clivedon House. It could not have been a more perfect proposal!
• What made you chose your venue – A mix of historical and modern all in one place. We left to go back to our car after an open day, and immediately turned around, went back in, and made the booking right then and there.

So happy to be sharing Rachel & Deb’s  gorgeous Stirk House wedding with you. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many wedding at this Lancashire wedding venue over the years. Making me a well rounded Shirk House wedding photographer. However its been a while since I was last here, so I really wanted showcase Rachel & Debs wedding, as its my most up to date look at this wonderful Lancashire wedding venue.

Rachel & Debs had a twilight wedding ceremony, into relaxed drinks then the evening reception. Making their day feel more like a big party. We lucked out with the February weather, landing a dry, sunny day. Giving us gorgeous light into the early evening.

One of my favourite Ribble Valley wedding venues for beautiful wedding photography is the Outbarn in Clitheroe. If you haven’t seen this venue up close, you must visit one of their open days. They run around 6 each year. Mainly in February and March, and then later in the season around October and November time. Looking forward to Outbarn wedding photography in 2024. Proposal – We got engaged in Chester. Joe had taken us away for a relaxing night away and a spa weekend. Joe had “nipped back up to the room” to get our things ready, however he was actually writing “marry me” on the bed out of rose petals and rose petals all over the floor with fairy lights leading up to it.

Our Venue – I found the Outbarn on Instagram, our baby was around 5/6 months old and we decided if we didn’t get married now, we weren’t sure when we would get the chance to and wanted to do it when our daughter would be involved.

After a 10 year gap of photographing West Tower weddings in Lancashire, 2024 has definitely made up for it! Ashley & Shaun’s autumn wedding was my third time this year as Wedding Photographer at West Tower, which has been a real treat. My bride Ashley really made the most of the Autumn Theme, making it absolutely beautiful. She choose the perfect suppliers to make her vision happen and me to capture it all, which was a real privilege. Dreamy walk through the woods for 10 minutes to capture their relaxed portraits , was just wonderful. My husband and I first met Jules at one of the biggest wedding fayres in the North West as we specifically went to find a photographer for our wedding day. Within 10 minutes of speaking to Jules  we instantly knew she was the one! Up until the build up to our big day, Jules was nothing but reassuring and made sure we were ready for our big day in terms of photographs. Jules made sure she captured every perfect moment and fine detail. I just cannot explain how much she made us feel at ease on the day and to be honest none of us even remembered that she was actually there taking photos she hid that well!! West Tower Weddings – get to know the couple

• Tell me a little about the proposal. – Jonathan had booked for us to stay at the Lakes Spa Hotel in Bowness on 8 March 2022 as part of my valentine’s gift. I’ve always wanted to stay at this hotel and said I’d love to stay there one day as they have Jacuzzis on the balconies. We had planned to go out for food that evening but decided to go for a walk whilst the sun was setting as it was a lovely spring evening. Whilst on a walk overlooking Lake Windermere, he decided to get down on one knee and pop the question which was a lovely surprise. It was just us two in the moment and it felt so special.
• What made your choose your venue? I had been researching wedding venues online and instantly fell in love with West Tower as you could have the ceremony on site and stay overnight too. The interior and gardens surrounding the venue is just stunning. We both went to look around and knew instantly it was the one and what we wanted. I got this feeling inside and knew I wanted to get married there.

We initially met in Venue nightclub. 6 months later we bumped into each other again at the Deaf institute. We then went on our first date!

We went out for a walk to Macclesfield Forest where Andy proposed. My mums dog Alfie was watching.

This dreamy Ribble Valley winter wedding photography at Shireburn Arms  has to be one of my favourite ever festive weddings. Mostly because of Sophie & Matt, but also because of the dreamy golden hour we appeared at Cromwell bridge. That midday sunshine is always a corker at this time year.  As you can see Ribble Valley winter wedding photography looks stunning, so don’t let the cooler months PUT you off. Soft enough to shoot into but strong enough to give the perfect golden glow. This was my first December wedding at the Shireburn Arms, although over the years I have photographed at this Clitheroe wedding venue in pretty much all seasons, with my other favourite month being April, when the cherry blossom tree in the garden is in full blossom. If you get just the right window the tree will have enough blossom on the tree but also a layer of pink blossom on the ground too. Making the prettiest of photos – link here to see the proof!

Meet the couple

• How did you meet? – We met whilst working together at David Lloyd gym in Chorley. Friends first for a year and then started dating. We quit work after 4 years to travel together.
• Tell me a little about the proposal – travelling through India at the time. We spent 7 weeks in the country. The type of travel that will test any couple. We went to the Taj mahal. A place where it was overrun with people and way too busy for a quit intimate proposal that I wanted. Sunset, on the river at the front of the Taj mahal, rob manages to get a small wooden barley floating wooden boat. Paid the man $5 and we set out for the sun set and picture of the Taj.
• What made your chose River Barn?  -We went to school with James the owner, he contacted me about the new venue they had made. I instantly fell in love.
