• How did you meet? Bumble!
• Tell me a little about the proposal – It was a beautiful Autumn day at Oxford Botanic Gardens in front of Lyra and Will’s bench (from His Dark Materials). Kate had no idea (although looking back there were a good few clues), and luckily Matt had the forethought to arrange for a photographer to capture the exact moment of shock. We celebrated at the Fat Duck and Clivedon House. It could not have been a more perfect proposal!
• What made you chose your venue – A mix of historical and modern all in one place. We left to go back to our car after an open day, and immediately turned around, went back in, and made the booking right then and there.

Get To Know Our Couple

How did you meet?  At Benicassim festival in Spain after our first year at university.

Tell me a little about the proposal. –  [From Mel’s POV] Harry let me plan a trip to the lakes (very clever as I would definitely suspect otherwise) and let me choose which mountain to climb. I chose Blencathra which I had my eye on for a while. It was a warm June day and Harry had to splash water on his face when we started climbing from a nearby stream due to getting a ‘headache’ (definitely nerves). He found the whole walk challenging and kept telling me so but at the peak I was checking out the view and Harry said “how about this?” holding up the most beautiful and perfect ring. I just giggled and took the ring!!

What made you choose your venue? We knew we wanted to split out the ceremony from the party, a pub for the first day being ideal, and a brewery for the party just sounded fun! Mel loves the lakes so much and really wanted the wedding to be there. Mel (instead of working) did a load of research and we only ended up viewing the Buttermere Court Hotel with its dramatic views and the Venue in Kendal for its proximity to Manchester and knew they were perfect!

Where do I even start with Jules. I am lost for words but I’ll try! My main worry about our wedding was that my partner absolutely HATES photos, I don’t think he would’ve been bothered if I told him I hadn’t even booked a photographer! It was a major concern of mine how he was going to deal with it on the day and I was really stressing for a long time about it. But oh WOW. After the ceremony we went off for our couples photos. I cannot explain the difference I saw in my husband. He was totally relaxed because of her. He was actually enjoying posing for the pictures!!! Even to the point he was showing Jules some of his own new poses he’d come up with. He was absolutely loving life and from the last 7 years I’ve been with Liam I have never ever witnessed this from him around a camera. After a 10 year gap of photographing West Tower weddings in Lancashire, 2024 has definitely made up for it! Ashley & Shaun’s autumn wedding was my third time this year as Wedding Photographer at West Tower, which has been a real treat. My bride Ashley really made the most of the Autumn Theme, making it absolutely beautiful. She choose the perfect suppliers to make her vision happen and me to capture it all, which was a real privilege. Dreamy walk through the woods for 10 minutes to capture their relaxed portraits , was just wonderful. My husband and I first met Jules at one of the biggest wedding fayres in the North West as we specifically went to find a photographer for our wedding day. Within 10 minutes of speaking to Jules  we instantly knew she was the one! Up until the build up to our big day, Jules was nothing but reassuring and made sure we were ready for our big day in terms of photographs. Jules made sure she captured every perfect moment and fine detail. West Tower Weddings – get to know the couple

• Tell me a little about the proposal. – Jonathan had booked for us to stay at the Lakes Spa Hotel in Bowness on 8 March 2022 as part of my valentine’s gift. I’ve always wanted to stay at this hotel and said I’d love to stay there one day as they have Jacuzzis on the balconies. We had planned to go out for food that evening but decided to go for a walk whilst the sun was setting as it was a lovely spring evening. Whilst on a walk overlooking Lake Windermere, he decided to get down on one knee and pop the question which was a lovely surprise. It was just us two in the moment and it felt so special.
• What made your choose your venue? I had been researching wedding venues online and instantly fell in love with West Tower as you could have the ceremony on site and stay overnight too. The interior and gardens surrounding the venue is just stunning. We both went to look around and knew instantly it was the one and what we wanted. I got this feeling inside and knew I wanted to get married there.

I can’t express how perfect Jules was and I’m so glad we got one of her final dates for 2023! She’d done photos for two of my mates weddings and I knew we wanted her – so much so that we got her availability before seeing any venues so we knew we could secure her. On the day it was just like having another bridesmaid there (she was even colour coordinated with them). She’s like a mate who was just super fab at photography. The candid photos are a perfect addition to all the funny stories we heard from the day but didn’t quite manage to see – she got EVERYWHERE!
We got previews 3 days after the wedding and the full set 3 weeks after and they’re gorgeous. Looking through them I felt like Kiera Knightly in Love Actually (‘I look quite pretty’), I’ve never seen Stephen be happy to be in so many pictures and she’s got the most beautiful pictures of my grandparents too… only 68 years to go until we’re married as long as them!
So just to say – BOOK HER!! Your photos will be so full of joy… You will not regret it!

Well Being Farm Weddings – Meet the couple!!

How did you meet  – On hinge! We matched and then went into lockdown so had to be penpals for 3 months before we were allowed on a date. We bought beers and ciders and went and sat in the meadows in Salford until it got dark

Tell me a little about the proposal – Amy got home from a weekend long day at work, Stephen had cooked ‘engagement’ bourguignon as we now call it, he’d lit candles and fairylights at home. Amy knew he was going to propose so went to change into something nicer and Stephen knew she knew so made her wait until after dinner!

Why did you choose Well Being Farm? – Came across as really laid back, happy to accommodate pretty much everything we wanted to do, eco and you get llamas and donkeys

Meet the couple

• How did you meet? – We met whilst working together at David Lloyd gym in Chorley. Friends first for a year and then started dating. We quit work after 4 years to travel together.
• Tell me a little about the proposal – travelling through India at the time. We spent 7 weeks in the country. The type of travel that will test any couple. We went to the Taj mahal. A place where it was overrun with people and way too busy for a quit intimate proposal that I wanted. Sunset, on the river at the front of the Taj mahal, rob manages to get a small wooden barley floating wooden boat. Paid the man $5 and we set out for the sun set and picture of the Taj.
• What made your chose River Barn?  -We went to school with James the owner, he contacted me about the new venue they had made. I instantly fell in love.

WHAT a fabulous year for me as Lancashire Wedding photographer

I was lucky enough to be non stop shooting from February to December this year, making 2022 one of my busiest years to date. As well as photographing lots of beautiful Lancashire weddings I also had the pleasure of getting down into Cheshire, Manchester and over to Yorkshire for a few wedding too. I generally photography weddings in and around the surrounding areas of the Ribble Valley, although I’m more than happy to photography anywhere in The North West.

Words cannot express how amazing Jules is! From the second we met she made us feel so welcome, and at ease (and neither of us are massive fans of having our photos taken). Lancashire   Wedding   Photographers

I normally photography at least 2 wedding at Falcon Manor every year and ever time I always find new places within the gardens and Hall to photograph. There are those classic Falcon Manor images that are always lovely to capture. Like the beautiful back lit late evening image shot outside the front doors. Portraits on the dramatic stairs  are always a must too. I’m always most excited when I discover a new little spot where I’ve never captured before. My love of the silhouette shot is a firm favorite of mine, and at Falcon Manor there are so many spots to capture dramatic Silhouettes. The beautiful windows and doorways just lend themselves to these stunning shots.

Sarah & Luke are the most adorable couple.  This particular Falcon Manor wedding has to be my all time favourites. Not only were these guys so much fun to be around, but photographing their chilly March Winter wedding was a real treat. We popped out briefly in the fresh March air  for some cute sunlit garden portraits. Sarah & Saz chose to have my midweek coverage for their Thursday wedding, opting to extend it from 3hrs to 5hr. There was no preparations photography needed, and their celebrations at spring Cottage ended at 6pm. So ceremony, portraits, speeches, dinner, relaxing and first dance were all fitted neatly into a 5hrs coverage. Spring Cottage  wedding photographer

I fell in love with Spring Cottage as soon as I arrived. What a truly hidden gem of a wedding venue if you are looking for relaxed, informal vibes for your celebrations. Spring Cottage run weddings in the spring / summer peak season, from May to October. For me it the ideal venue for a intimate midweek wedding, like Sarah & Saz’s. Spring Cottage is set in the beautiful Rivington woodland in Bolton.  The venue allows space internally and externally for you to celebrate with close family and friends. Whilst internal rooms are beautifully decorated, the venue can come as a blank canvas, allowing couples to add their own personal touch whether that be adding individual decor or choosing table decorations.  The grounds can also be used by you too, whether that be for photographs or just for children to play and explore. The food is incredible ( I had a delicious meal provided by the couple?) catering menu changes depending on the season and is locally sourced. I absolutely loved my first time shooting here. So many great spots for portraits. Even using the happy yellow Hen house for some snaps – I just couldn’t resist, THAT COLOUR!!
