So happy to be sharing Rachel & Deb’s  gorgeous Stirk House wedding with you. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many wedding at this Lancashire wedding venue over the years. Making me a well rounded Shirk House wedding photographer. However its been a while since I was last here, so I really wanted showcase Rachel & Debs wedding, as its my most up to date look at this wonderful Lancashire wedding venue.

Rachel & Debs had a twilight wedding ceremony, into relaxed drinks then the evening reception. Making their day feel more like a big party. We lucked out with the February weather, landing a dry, sunny day. Giving us gorgeous light into the early evening.

River Barn is a very chic,  contemporary Lancashire wedding barn, set in the beautifully landscaped gardens and woodlands. On the outskirts of Preston, in Poulton-le-Fylde. The stunning walled gardens make a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding portraits, giving both contemporary and country vibes. Amy & Keiran’s wedding is not my first time at River Barn in Lancashire, as I’ve had the plasure of several weddings as a  River Barn wedding photographer. This was my first time photographing a Winter wedding at the River Barn in Lancashire and what a fabulous December day it was. Jules is the most incredibly talented photographer! We booked her for our wedding 2 years ago and had a pre-wedding engagement shoot a year earlier to familiarize ourselves with the camera experience. The pictures from this are amazing and I truly cannot wait to receive our wedding photos! The way she captures natural photos in the most beautiful way is unmatched!

Get to know the couple

• How did you meet?- We met on Bumble in Oct 2021 and our first date was at mini golf in central London, what was supposed to be a 2-hour date MAX was a full 8 hours of taking until the bar kicked us out!
• Tell me a little about the proposal – We were in Egypt and had got up at 5am from jet lag and decided on a walk along the beach. At the edge of the pier Kieran proposed and it was so beautiful with the beach scenery but no-one around. Although the ring almost fell into the sea it was perfect!
• What made your choose your venue? -The perfect mix of modern and rustic features, as well as the friendly staff and incredible fireplace which is *chefs kiss* for a winter wedding.

Where do I even start with Jules. I am lost for words but I’ll try! My main worry about our wedding was that my partner absolutely HATES photos, I don’t think he would’ve been bothered if I told him I hadn’t even booked a photographer! It was a major concern of mine how he was going to deal with it on the day and I was really stressing for a long time about it. But oh WOW. After the ceremony we went off for our couples photos. I cannot explain the difference I saw in my husband. He was totally relaxed because of her. He was actually enjoying posing for the pictures!!! Even to the point he was showing Jules some of his own new poses he’d come up with. He was absolutely loving life and from the last 7 years I’ve been with Liam I have never ever witnessed this from him around a camera. Tipi at Riley Green Wedding Venue – get to know the couple

• How did you meet?

How did you meet? Online (match.com). I was living in Nottingham at the time, so it probably shouldn’t have worked, but we clicked and James decided to come and visit for the weekend. I moved back up North a few weeks later and 8 months after that, lockdown hit, which gave us a choice- live together or don’t see each other for an unspecified amount of time. We went for it and did the lockdown in a two-room flat… I regret nothing ????

• Tell me a little about the proposal.

We were staying a night at a manor house in Scotland on our way to Edinburgh fringe. James took me on a walk by a river in the evening and told me all the reasons he loved me, then got down on one knee. It was super romantic but super muddy. A few seconds later he said ‘can I get up now? I’ve only brought one pair of jeans for this trip.’

• What made your choose your venue?

We really wanted a relaxed day where people genuinely had fun. We’re not big drinkers, so we wanted to shift the focus from the night do and the bar towards the afternoon and lawn games. We knew the tipis were perfect as soon as we saw them.

The Tipis at Riley are just a fairytale settings , with the lights in the trees coming to life at dust creating a beautiful are for evening portraits.

Sarah & James had said when they met me at the Little White Books, Great Northern Wedding Show that the thing that sold it for them to book me was my down to earth personality and the vibrant colour in my photos, which was exactly the style they wanted.

This dreamy Ribble Valley winter wedding photography at Shireburn Arms  has to be one of my favourite ever festive weddings. Mostly because of Sophie & Matt, but also because of the dreamy golden hour we appeared at Cromwell bridge. That midday sunshine is always a corker at this time year.  As you can see Ribble Valley winter wedding photography looks stunning, so don’t let the cooler months PUT you off. Soft enough to shoot into but strong enough to give the perfect golden glow. This was my first December wedding at the Shireburn Arms, although over the years I have photographed at this Clitheroe wedding venue in pretty much all seasons, with my other favourite month being April, when the cherry blossom tree in the garden is in full blossom. If you get just the right window the tree will have enough blossom on the tree but also a layer of pink blossom on the ground too. Making the prettiest of photos – link here to see the proof!

I actually think both Chole & Suzie, my brides from both weddings chose me because of my colourful, virbrant, editing style.
