Get To Know Our Couple

How did you meet?  At Benicassim festival in Spain after our first year at university.

Tell me a little about the proposal. –  [From Mel’s POV] Harry let me plan a trip to the lakes (very clever as I would definitely suspect otherwise) and let me choose which mountain to climb. I chose Blencathra which I had my eye on for a while. It was a warm June day and Harry had to splash water on his face when we started climbing from a nearby stream due to getting a ‘headache’ (definitely nerves). He found the whole walk challenging and kept telling me so but at the peak I was checking out the view and Harry said “how about this?” holding up the most beautiful and perfect ring. I just giggled and took the ring!!

What made you choose your venue? We knew we wanted to split out the ceremony from the party, a pub for the first day being ideal, and a brewery for the party just sounded fun! Mel loves the lakes so much and really wanted the wedding to be there. Mel (instead of working) did a load of research and we only ended up viewing the Buttermere Court Hotel with its dramatic views and the Venue in Kendal for its proximity to Manchester and knew they were perfect!
