Get To Know Our Couple

How did you meet?  At Benicassim festival in Spain after our first year at university.

Tell me a little about the proposal. –  [From Mel’s POV] Harry let me plan a trip to the lakes (very clever as I would definitely suspect otherwise) and let me choose which mountain to climb. I chose Blencathra which I had my eye on for a while. It was a warm June day and Harry had to splash water on his face when we started climbing from a nearby stream due to getting a ‘headache’ (definitely nerves). He found the whole walk challenging and kept telling me so but at the peak I was checking out the view and Harry said “how about this?” holding up the most beautiful and perfect ring. I just giggled and took the ring!!

What made you choose your venue? We knew we wanted to split out the ceremony from the party, a pub for the first day being ideal, and a brewery for the party just sounded fun! Mel loves the lakes so much and really wanted the wedding to be there. Mel (instead of working) did a load of research and we only ended up viewing the Buttermere Court Hotel with its dramatic views and the Venue in Kendal for its proximity to Manchester and knew they were perfect!

Mitton Hall is an Award-Winning Wedding venue in  in Lancashire. This beautiful autumn wedding at Mitton Hall on a beautiful October day was just stunning. Mitton Hall is the most established of all the James Place wedding venues. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph many wedding at Mitton Hall wedding Photographer, so know this iconic venue well. It oozes elegance, with contemporary and traditional touches throughout. Set in the beautifully landscaped gardens and woodlands, it really does have backdrops to die for. Golden hour is always special at Mitton Hall. Holly & Bailey’s wedding was spot on the autumn season when Mitton Hall is at its most beautiful, as the whole of front of the building turns an stunning autumnal red.

Where do I even start with Jules. I am lost for words but I’ll try! My main worry about our wedding was that my partner absolutely HATES photos, I don’t think he would’ve been bothered if I told him I hadn’t even booked a photographer! It was a major concern of mine how he was going to deal with it on the day and I was really stressing for a long time about it. But oh WOW. After the ceremony we went off for our couples photos. I cannot explain the difference I saw in my husband. He was totally relaxed because of her. He was actually enjoying posing for the pictures!!! Even to the point he was showing Jules some of his own new poses he’d come up with. He was absolutely loving life and from the last 7 years I’ve been with Liam I have never ever witnessed this from him around a camera. From the minute I met Jules I felt completely at ease, I felt like I’d always known her !!! After a 10 year gap of photographing West Tower weddings in Lancashire, 2024 has definitely made up for it! Ashley & Shaun’s autumn wedding was my third time this year as Wedding Photographer at West Tower, which has been a real treat. My bride Ashley really made the most of the Autumn Theme, making it absolutely beautiful. She choose the perfect suppliers to make her vision happen and me to capture it all, which was a real privilege. Dreamy walk through the woods for 10 minutes to capture their relaxed portraits , was just wonderful. My husband and I first met Jules at one of the biggest wedding fayres in the North West as we specifically went to find a photographer for our wedding day. Within 10 minutes of speaking to Jules  we instantly knew she was the one! Up until the build up to our big day, Jules was nothing but reassuring and made sure we were ready for our big day in terms of photographs. Jules made sure she captured every perfect moment and fine detail. I just cannot explain how much she made us feel at ease on the day and to be honest none of us even remembered that she was actually there taking photos she hid that well!! What we asked for was captured and even made getting everyone together to be in photos work like clockwork!

Her work is just truly beautiful and so colour and natural so you know what you are getting is real. West Tower Weddings – get to know the couple

• Tell me a little about the proposal. – Jonathan had booked for us to stay at the Lakes Spa Hotel in Bowness on 8 March 2022 as part of my valentine’s gift. I’ve always wanted to stay at this hotel and said I’d love to stay there one day as they have Jacuzzis on the balconies. We had planned to go out for food that evening but decided to go for a walk whilst the sun was setting as it was a lovely spring evening. Whilst on a walk overlooking Lake Windermere, he decided to get down on one knee and pop the question which was a lovely surprise. It was just us two in the moment and it felt so special.
• What made your choose your venue? I had been researching wedding venues online and instantly fell in love with West Tower as you could have the ceremony on site and stay overnight too. The interior and gardens surrounding the venue is just stunning. We both went to look around and knew instantly it was the one and what we wanted. I got this feeling inside and knew I wanted to get married there.

Wyresdale Park Wedding venue in Lancashire, is an absolute gem!

This colourful Wyredales park wedding was a total real treat, beautiful venue and real great couple. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing two wedding at Wyresdale Park in Lancashire in 2024 and both have been beautifully colourful. I actually think both Chole & Suzie, my brides from both weddings chose me because of my colourful, virbrant, editing style. My style is  always captures the natural colours rather than muting colour or damping them down. There are so many beautiful colourful backdrops at the colourful Wyresdale weddings. There are stunningly awesome woodlands, the lake – where you can be brave and take a little trip out on the lake. The hall itself it also a stunning spot for portraits. What a reay love about Wyredale Weddings is the beautiful lodge where brides can use to get ready. The lighting in there is just perfect and the backdrop of the room make for lovely backdrops. The lovely light ceremony room is also a favourite.
