• How did you meet? Bumble!
• Tell me a little about the proposal – It was a beautiful Autumn day at Oxford Botanic Gardens in front of Lyra and Will’s bench (from His Dark Materials). Kate had no idea (although looking back there were a good few clues), and luckily Matt had the forethought to arrange for a photographer to capture the exact moment of shock. We celebrated at the Fat Duck and Clivedon House. It could not have been a more perfect proposal!
• What made you chose your venue – A mix of historical and modern all in one place. We left to go back to our car after an open day, and immediately turned around, went back in, and made the booking right then and there.

Get To Know Our Couple

How did you meet?  At Benicassim festival in Spain after our first year at university.

Tell me a little about the proposal. –  [From Mel’s POV] Harry let me plan a trip to the lakes (very clever as I would definitely suspect otherwise) and let me choose which mountain to climb. I chose Blencathra which I had my eye on for a while. It was a warm June day and Harry had to splash water on his face when we started climbing from a nearby stream due to getting a ‘headache’ (definitely nerves). He found the whole walk challenging and kept telling me so but at the peak I was checking out the view and Harry said “how about this?” holding up the most beautiful and perfect ring. I just giggled and took the ring!!

What made you choose your venue? We knew we wanted to split out the ceremony from the party, a pub for the first day being ideal, and a brewery for the party just sounded fun! Mel loves the lakes so much and really wanted the wedding to be there. Mel (instead of working) did a load of research and we only ended up viewing the Buttermere Court Hotel with its dramatic views and the Venue in Kendal for its proximity to Manchester and knew they were perfect!

Making me a well rounded Shirk House wedding photographer. However its been a while since I was last here, so I really wanted showcase Rachel & Debs wedding, as its my most up to date look at this wonderful Lancashire wedding venue.

Rachel & Debs had a twilight wedding ceremony, into relaxed drinks then the evening reception. Making their day feel more like a big party. We lucked out with the February weather, landing a dry, sunny day. Giving us gorgeous light into the early evening.

I’m absolutely delighted to finally be a wedding photographer at The Tithe Barn, Lancashire. The historic Tithe Barn is set within the grounds of the Duke of Devonshire’s majestic Bolton Abbey estate in Lancashire. Ceremonies take place in the main barn, with the outdoor ceremonies held on the terrace, with views across the Bolton Abbey Priory ruin.

Bolton Abbey Weddings

Katie & Tom decided not to have their ceremony at tithe barn, and chose the historic Bolton Abbey instead. Traditional ceremonies at church are less and less for me each year. So to have the opportunity to photograph a wedding ceremony in such beautiful grand surroundings was wonderful. With the strong natural lighting in Bolton Abbey gives striking drama to all photos.

After the ceremony I took Katie & Tom for a romantic wander around the Bolton Abbey in Lancashire ruins for their portraits. I’ve visited the ruins with my family on day trips many times, so was exciting to actually be here photographing a wedding! After a little relaxing alone time, and portraits complete, they headed to their drinks reception at The Tithe Barn.

Inside, the tithe barn’s majestic scale comes into its own. It is lit with up lights on the flagstone floor and fairy lights woven through the beams that support the barn’s elevated ceiling. This beautiful Knutsford wedding venue is totally delightful. I had visited the venue earlier in 2025 for a styled wedding photoshoot with Little White Books Magazine, but Beth & Joe’s wedding was my first official wedding as a  The Oak Tree Of Peover wedding Photographer.  Since this wedding I’ve actually secured another two bookings for 2026 & 2027 here, so I’m delighted to be heading back soon. The day was wall to wall sunshine, which made for some incredible candid photos of guests relaxing and enjoy the celebrations. One of the many highlights of the day was Olive their pretty pooch. She stole the show completely when she delivered the rings during the outdoor ceremony. • How did you meet? – We met on an app called bumble, then went on a first date to a bar in Ilkley. Interestingly we actually fell out on our first date!! But we couldn’t keep away and the rest is history.
• Tell me a little about the proposal – We were skiing in Tignes, he got down on one knee and proposed half way down the slopes! It was picture perfect.
• What made your choose your venue?  – I always knew when I got married I wanted wood and fairy lights, when I walked into Bashall I just knew it was the place for us.

• How did you meet?- We met on Bumble in Oct 2021 and our first date was at mini golf in central London, what was supposed to be a 2-hour date MAX was a full 8 hours of taking until the bar kicked us out!
• Tell me a little about the proposal – We were in Egypt and had got up at 5am from jet lag and decided on a walk along the beach. At the edge of the pier Kieran proposed and it was so beautiful with the beach scenery but no-one around. Although the ring almost fell into the sea it was perfect!
• What made your choose your venue? -The perfect mix of modern and rustic features, as well as the friendly staff and incredible fireplace which is *chefs kiss* for a winter wedding.
