Lauren & Lewis’s Thornton Manor wedding was my first time shooting at this beautiful venue; but hopefully not my last!. This luxury a grade II listed Elizabethan house on the Wirral nr Cheshire was built in the middle of the 19th century and surrounded by exquisite park and gardens. It has four exclusive venues, each tucked away in their own oasis of this extensive country estate. As well as the house the wedding venue has the Dell Pavillion & the Lakeside Marquee. This is where Lauren & Lewis held their wedding celebrations. The Marquee is set beneath the tree-tops in the extensive grounds. Overlooking the water and countryside beyond, making it the perfect setting for their romantic wedding. Like me to be your Thornton Manor Wedding Photographer?

Chinese Wedding Theme
The overall theme for the wedding was based on Lauren’s family Chinese heritage. With small nods and touches scattered throughout the day. There was the beautiful Chinese Umbrellas dressing the ceremony room. Then the blossom trees decorating the dining room, and of course the AMAZING Chinese dragon dance.
I’ve photographed a few Chinese weddings in the past. Although more traditional Chinese weddings normal incorporate the bride & groom getting involved in morning games & tea ceremonies. Lauren’s wedding didn’t have any of these traditional elements, but it did have the dragon dance; which was just AMAZING to experience. The colour & atmosphere were fabulous. Lauren’s dad had arranged the dragon dance as a gift. It was a complete surprise for both the couple & all their guests
Lauren arranged a little surprise of her own for Lewis. During the ceremony was a surprise operatic performance by a family friend Natalie of You’ll Never Walk Alone. This song has great personal meaning to the family. As it was a favourite of Lewis’s late granddad. Emotions always run high during a wedding ceremony; but to add this – BOY even I was crying!

Lauren & Lewis’s wedding was definitely a party wedding. With entertainment being really important for for the couple. During the ceremony we had a string trio from String Infusion who were just fabulous. During the wedding breakfast we had a surprise performance from crooner Cole. He was attending the wedding as a guest and started singing from his seat, so none of the guests could tell where the singing was coming from. He had both of the dads up singing, and by the end of the performance everyone was stood on their seats. In the evening they had a DJ and SIX15 provided a saxophonist for the evening party as a nod to their LOVE of dance music and that Ibiza vibe to the night do.
