We didn’t get to meet Jules face to face before our big day, but communication was excellent, with Jules giving us an overview of what would help her get the most photos out of the day (things like our timings and photo lists).On the day itself, she was super professional, but more importantly relaxed, fun, and made both ourselves and our guests completely at ease.

• How did you meet? Bumble!
• Tell me a little about the proposal – It was a beautiful Autumn day at Oxford Botanic Gardens in front of Lyra and Will’s bench (from His Dark Materials). Kate had no idea (although looking back there were a good few clues), and luckily Matt had the forethought to arrange for a photographer to capture the exact moment of shock. We celebrated at the Fat Duck and Clivedon House. It could not have been a more perfect proposal!
• What made you chose your venue – A mix of historical and modern all in one place. We left to go back to our car after an open day, and immediately turned around, went back in, and made the booking right then and there.

Micro Weddings is the NEW buzz word for intimate weddings & elopements in Lancashire. Small weddings have always been popular for weekday couples or those who have small families groups and want minimal fuss. Covid-19 and the government restrictions re gatherings has made these smaller gatherings – Micro weddings become a whole new thing within the wedding industry and are proving really popular.

With all your everlasting memories captured forever, with some beautiful  relaxed wedding photos. We always think of elopements as something that happens in 1940’s or Hollywood movies. Weekday Weddings

Monday to Thursday weddings have always been geared towards smaller more intimate weddings . If you are thinking of having a smaller numbers venues are more likely to cater for this on these quieter days of the week. It opens up the wedding dining to maybe even a restaurant rather than a hotel. Making pricing per head a lot cheaper. Maybe keeping things casual with a barbeque. Outfits – dress  & suit can be more relaxed and low key too. For some people this is a real bonus at they have never thought of themselves in the big white wedding dress or 3 piece suit affair.You could go the other way and book the venue of your dreams that you could never afford on a Saturday in the middle of Summer BUT…a Tuesday in January or February maybe right on budget. Just 15 to 20 close family and friends and you have a the perfect day!

How Fabulous is Rivington Hall Barn in Bolton. This Historic wedding venue really presents that WOW factor feeling  as soon as you enter. Dimly lit, with just a few spotlights and covered in fairy lights, which creates a totally magical atmosphere. Always excited to be a Rivington Hall Barn Wedding Photographer as I’m totally spoilt for choice with pretty backdrops.

Rivington Barn dates back to the Saxon era and still retains its impressive original beams. Originally used for Agriculture, the Barn was extended in 1905 by Lord Leverhulme and used as a tea room. After World War II and after refurbishment it became a venue for all types of events, and has continued to do so ever since. The Salmon family have catered for all weddings and events in the Barn since 1953 and as a family run business, we take pride in offering a friendly and welcoming service.

Meet My Rivington Hall Barn Couple

How did you meet – Met on Hinge in the summer of 2022. Our first date was a mini golf and bowling extravaganza. Infamously, James walked past Megan when meeting her on the street outside the venue because he didn’t recognize her without glasses.

Tell me a little about the proposal – We bought the ring together and James spent the next two months jokingly proposing everywhere before asking for Megan’s hand in marriage on Lytham St Annes Beach on Saturday 7^th October 2023 to a cold but nice sunset.

What made your chose your venue – We like the high ceilings, the rustic wooden beams and fairy lights inside. It is out of the way too but not far from home.

Dogs at Lancashire weddings are or babies, part of the family and loves of our lives. So why shouldn’t they be at our Wedding Day! Over the past 5 years I have had more couples inviting their dogs to the wedding. They have been VIP guests. Ring Bearers or just loving comfort blankets!. They get dressed up in bow ties, ribbons, flashy collars  & waistcoats. Are given luxury dog food at dinner time and basically have a bloody good day out! There are more  wedding venues that are really cool with having dogs at weddings. This year that ever there has been more Dogs at Lancashire weddings.

More farms are offering to host your wedding these days. Opening up the opportunity of having all-sorts of quirky animals  at your wedding. Some of the more popular ones in Lancashire can offer you time in your wedding plan to have photos and cuddles with Llama, Donkeys, Horses, Chicken & Alpaca’s!. I’ve also photographed wedding where a fabulous company will bring the llamas to YOU! Never work with children & animals they say!:)… well as a wedding photographer you will work with both. Sometimes at the same time!. All animals really do make for great photo opportunities. We never know what’s going to happen next,; and that’s why it so GOOD!. Unpredictable & exciting. Hopefully as i push the trigger your doggie will give you the biggest lick around the chops or the classic shot – THE POOP!:)
