Beth & Matt’s celebrations was my first time at the very popular Sandhole Oak Barn. Great to finally officially be able to say I’m a Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photographer. This Cheshire wedding venue really is something special. The actual venue is located right on the side of  a stunning lake, giving us an awesome backdrop for their pretty autumnal wedding. Beth’s style is super relaxed  & chilled, with her day unfolded into just that type of vibe.  Her colour choice for her bridesmaids dress was  inspired. The beautiful rust tone has to be one of my very favourite colour choices for bridesmaid dresses ever. I’m a redhead so sort of biased i guess!! – although all the girls  did look totally beautiful  in them – Could I be for you?

I   just   LOVE   Autumn colour!

As I was driving into the venue I noticed that there was a gorgeous tree lines entrance. The trees were beautiful maple trees and had all turns bright red. I have to get me some snaps near these beauties’ I thought. I greeted all the girls in prep room, settled in and started snapping away. After about 10 minutes Beth mentioned the red trees – YES! -Already clocked them. ‘Are you think what I’m thinking’ I said. She smiled. That’s when you are clicking with your bride. Already on the same wave length. Needless to say after we had taken the family portraits myself and videographer walked with the Groomsmens & Bridesmaids to the beautiful red trees and captured some pretty autumnal portraits.

Why I mention this scenario is because this is a great example of how awesome snaps just happen organically. I see a moment, a colour, a wall, reflection, sunset or a gorgeous doorway and BOOM! – I totally love my job for moments like these. Always fresh, and always uniquely spontaneous. Both Beth & Matt are real party people so it was always going to be the dancefloor moments for them, and there were a LOT! Just a small selection here for you too peek at, but I’m sure your get the vibe of their day.  I’m back at Sandhole Oak Barn next month for Simon & Darren. Another big old party wedding ( with drag queen entertainment!!)  and I cannot WAIT!

The Mere wedding venue in Cheshire is a stunning Golf Resort & Spa Hotel, with extensive grounds. The grounds are scattered with beautiful trees, gardens . There are lots of  fabulous features too, including the stunning period build entrance gate. A gorgeous balcony area off the main wedding venue and of course the stunning lake which is massive! Both make stunning backdrops for portraits. Being a Golf hotel, transportation is by golf buggy and is definitely an fabulous added bonus for getting around. Especially when you have a few bags of equipment!!.

Gemma & James had a traditional church ceremony  at a local church. We had full on confetti  carnage at the church; which is always amazing!. We had 2 confetti canons as well as some loose confetti to throw.  I always prep the bridesmaids & grooms men, to hand out the confetti as soon as everyone is exiting the church. Then once we are a clear distance from the church doors its  basically a free for all!. I love these particular confetti shots of Gemma  as  she goes in the kiss and James. He is freaked out by the confetti canon bang and leaves her hanging in mid kiss – you just couldn’t plan it -perfection!

Planning    Your    Wedding

Every wedding I photograph has had a planned timeline, which is a basic plan of  photography timings throughout the day. Its really helps my couples to relax as we have chatted about this months before the big day; so no surprises. We generally have plan A & Plan B. Sunshine & Rain. Once we arrived back at The Mere we completed all the family formals first; then took a little ride in the golf buggies. Stopping off at the main entrance, a beautiful weeping willow tree by the lakeside  & snapping some cute balcony portraits to. Before heading inside for speeches & dinner. The day ended with a fantastic party with entertainment by the ‘Fun  Times Frankies’  –  getting everyone up onto the dance floor.
