Whalley Flower Girls – Colourful Style Shoot

Fun, creative photoshoots are something I did a lot of when I first discovered fashion photography at university. Dressing up friends and getting creative with ideas. I also ran my own boudoir studio for 5 years, which was all about getting creative with lighting and poses and dressing up!

So when Laura from Whalley flower girls’ asked me to be part of her squad for this shoot I was so excited.🖤 To be honest I’d only ever done a few wedding styled shoots for LWB magazine. So to be asked by a fellow wedding supplier was a real treat & complement. The fact that we were doing it for ourselves meant we could be as wild with our ideas as we wanted, and have an input into ideas, vibe and feel.

Laura had already set the theme as ‘Pink’ which was to be super colourful- Fun – Energetic. Vibrate colour was the key vibe. She pulled together an all female team for the shoot, and what a great bunch of talented ladies they are. From Gemma brown’s inspired hair to Kate’s gorgeous jackets, the whole theme came together perfectly. Our model’s, Kelsey & Xanthe Gill are sisters, so had really great chemistry. They are also both musicians and are used too photoshoots and working the camera, so that made my job easy!

Laura’s flowers arrangements were beautifully contemporary, fresh & bold. Her dining room centre pieces were complimented with hot pink table dressing by creative cover hire, reet petit cookies & northern made co.

Oh La La events Lancashire suppled the flower wall backdrops which work perfectly for our images of the scrummy cake and treat’s supplied by Lou Lou’s bakery . We used them again for some beautiful portraits of Kelsey and showcased Sarah Layton stunning jewerely & Laura’s bouquets. Our beautiful bridal dresses were suppliers by Amelias bridal and bridesmaid dresses by Abbie Jade. While Nikki Webb created a sassy make up look, which completed the sassy styling❤

Crow wood Hotel had just opened in the November 2019. It was great to be one of the first to have a look around the venue and photography a styled shoot for them. The outside space is just fantastic, with a gorgeous lake and extensive grounds. Inside is just as impressive. I adored the art deco styling of the bar area, which would be a great spot for chic wedding portraits 🖤. The luxury hotel has a spa & gym attached to it making it really popular choice for #Lancashirebrides.
